A quick little video showcasing my favorite gun, the Makarov PM. Incredibly accurate, reliable and rugged, this gun was the primary Eastern Bloc sidearm throughout the Cold War. And... you can buy four of them for the price of one Springfield 1911.
I filmed this while I was out in Oklahoma for Air Traffic Control training.

This is perhaps the first time I hear anyone describe the Makarov as accurate; The Russians claim It's a bit of a tough weapon to use and can only be accurate when used by a professional.

@molnia88 Most guns are much more accurate than their users. This gun is probably very accurate when used by someone who has practiced with it enough. Same with snub nosed revolvers, EXTREMELY accurate but hard to shoot accurately.

My buddy has a Bulgarian made Makarov and the accuracy of it is pretty crazy. First shot he ever took with it, he hit a small water bottle from about 30 yards. When I shot it, I hit the same target on my 2nd shot. Very fun and accurate gun!

@Karakachanskata The Russian ones have adjustable sights but are more expensive. Bulgarians have fixed sights but are less expensive. I've never shot a Russian one, so I can't comment on how they perform. My one caveat with the Bulgarian one is that the sight posts are very thin and are black, making them hard to see in low light. Aside from that, it's an amazing weapon.
